Model PLC

Russellville Intermediate School (RIS) has been recognized as a 2025 Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work School by Solution Tree. RIS is the second school in Russellville School District to achieve this honor, joining the ranks with less than 1,000 schools and districts across the United States and Canada recognized as Model PLC schools.

This recognition highlights schools that demonstrate sustained success in raising student achievement through teacher collaboration. Schools are selected based on rigorous criteria, including a strong commitment to PLC concepts, at least three years of implementation, and clear evidence of improved student learning. Schools must also explain their practices, structures, and culture in an application reviewed by the PLC Review Committee.

Russellville Intermediate School Principal Mrs. Laura Binz says “Our school’s success as a Model PLC at Work School is a direct reflection of the dedication, hard work, and collaboration of our incredible staff. Their unwavering commitment to responding to student data and continuously improving instructional practices is the driving force behind this recognition. RIS is proud to be a community that strives for excellence in serving every student to help them grow.”

RSD Superintendent Dr. Ginni McDonald added, “I am incredibly proud of Russellville Intermediate School for earning this recognition. Their dedication to student achievement and continuous improvement is evident, and this honor reflects their hard work and commitment to the PLC process.”

Congratulations, Russellville Intermediate School!
