🎓📚 Student activities will be available and booths for Transportation, Registration, Gifted & Talented, and ESL will be there to answer questions families may have.
This event will include information on federal funds projects and provide opportunities for family and community engagement and stakeholder feedback.

🤖 RJHS & RHS Robotics Teams Win Accolades at State Robotics Tournament
🏆 RJHS Team 728041P Paladins won the Arkansas VRC State Championship last Friday at ATU and will compete at the VRC World Competition next month.

🎉 RHS Team 967T, composed of Eliza Ash, Ramon Castro, Ian Emerson, Gavin Hurbanek, and Logan Magill, clinched the Amaze Award at the State Competition and Team 967B composed of Jenesis Arevalo, Emilee Breitbarth, Matthew Fox, Vicky Liu, and Christopher Smith won the Create Award!

The Transitions Fair is hosted each year as an opportunity to support students with varying needs to learn about career interests and job opportunities in the River Valley area!

"Hop Into Kindergarten" is an event for all upcoming Kindergartner families interested in enrolling in RSD! This event will be hosted at Oakland Heights Elementary from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on April 11th, 2024. Rain or shine!
Families will participate in an egg hunt, receive a copy of Tops and Bottoms by Janet Stevens, and learn more about Kindergarten in RSD!

Spring 2024 Dates to Know:
This is a reminder all RSD schools will be closed March 18-22, 2024 for Spring Break.
Students will return on March 25, 2024 which will be a Smart Start Monday.

Russellville Leadership Class at RSD 🎉
RSD hosted Class 38 of the Russellville Leadership Class recently.
📓Attendees were greeted by a Crawford Elementary "High Five Friday", attended sessions on RSD preschool, SPED, and ELL, and heard from Dr. McDonald on the RSD Strategic plan.
💡The afternoon consisted of sessions with a student panel, Quiz Bowl games, and a tour of the RHS STEM Center.
Attendees also toured Cyclone Athletics facilities and The Center for the Arts!

It's officially 1 Month until the Solar Eclipse! ❤️ RSD will provide one pair of solar glasses to all RSD staff and students for the Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024. All schools will be closed April 8, 2024. #OneRSD ❤️🌪️🖤
🏆 RHS Students Win 1st Place at Regional Science and Engineering Fair
RHS students won 1st place in the Animal Sciences division at the Central Arkansas Regional Science and Engineering Fair for their project on the endangered snake species. The team will now head to the State Science Fair at UCA at the end of March!
Students are Joy Skaggs, Alli Hernandez, Jenesis Arevalo, Sarah Shoptaw, and Vicky Liu!

RHS Quiz Bowl Continues Success 🏆
The RHS Quiz Bowl team finished 1st Overall at this past weekend's regional tournament. The team went undefeated against teams from Greenwood, Greenbrier, Lake Hamilton and Van Buren. The Cyclones Quiz Bowl team will now advance to the state tournament on April 13!
🎉 With these wins, this year's team broke the Russellville High School record for wins in a season, with an overall record of 69-4.

The Cyclone Broadcasting team recently met with award-winning meteorologist Todd Yakoubian, collaborated with NASA, revamped their set, and interviewed Russellville Mayor Fred Teague. Later this year, the team will speak with NBC News' Gary Grumbach, Fox News correspondent Janene Franseen, and Netflix producer Eric England!

RHS Quiz Bowl Continues Success 🕹️
🎉 RHS Quiz Bowl continues their winning ways with 1st and 3rd place finishes at the DeQueen invitational tournament this past Friday.
🏆 In addition, the junior varsity team won the state championship in History Bowl Saturday in Fort Smith, while the varsity squad made it to the state semi-finals!
Students Sarah Shoptaw and Ian Warnick finished 3rd overall in the individual competitions in the JV and Varsity divisions.
Great job Cyclones! 🌪️

RHS Students Continue Work on the Snake Genetics Project 📚
🧪 Last week, RHS students who’ve been working on the snake genetics project had their first opportunity to present their findings at ATU’s Junior Sciences and Humanities Symposium!

This Friday, the group will travel to UA Little Rock to compete in the Central Arkansas Regional Science and Engineering Fair (CARSEF)!
