Families of students that attend our Cyclone Adventures Afterschool Program: You are invited to our Spring Showcase on March 13. During this event you will see a presentation from the Kindness Club (at 3:45) as well as performances of Loki and the Magic Hammer and Androcles and the Lion Reader's Theaters from our Reader's Theater Club (at 4:30).

It is "School Resource Officer Day" and we are blessed with one of the best! Officer Taylor is a wonderful addition to Dwight Elementary. He goes above and beyond to help staff and students each day. He spends his time walking the hallways, ensuring the safety of our school, with a smile on his face and kind words for students and staff!

Students in Mrs. Meek's fourth grade classroom learned more about expository writing by competing in a fun, engaging game of "Kahoot". Kahoot is a game-based learning platform. Teachers create the virtual "game" using topics/information of their choice and students complete against one-another in this whole-group activity!

Mrs. Huddleston's kindergarten class has been learning about the elements of a fictional story.
The class read and discussed a picture book called "Ly's Goldfish". Afterwards, students completed a story element graphic organizer and then enjoyed a delicious goldfish snack! #smallschoolbigheart #ForwardRSD

Dwight students spent time in library yesterday learning about the history of Groundhog Day. After reading a nonfiction text, students surveyed classmates to find out if they did or did not want the groundhog to see his shadow. Then, students graphed the survey results and created a tally chart.
The majority of Dwight students were highly disappointed to learn that the groundhog did in fact see his shadow yesterday morning--which means (according to tradition) that we will have six more weeks of winter! #smallschoolbigheart
Yearbook forms are going home today! The cost of a book is $16.00. The order forms and payment are due by Monday, March 27.
*If you misplace your official Memory Book order form, don't worry! You can simply send money labeled with your child's name and "yearbook order".
