The River Valley Arts Center will induct the 2018 performing and visual artists and patron of the arts into the Beaux Arts Academy during an awards banquet and presentation from 6-9 p.m. March 2 at the Lake Point Conference Center.
For more than 36 years, the River Valley Arts Center has worked to improve the understanding, appreciation and importance of the arts and especially local artists and patrons who add so much to the quality of life and economy in the Arkansas River Valley. For over ten years, the Arts Center has selected inductees into the Beaux Arts Academy. This prestigious award, recognizing the greatest achievement in art, has become one of the biggest and most memorable annual art events of the year.
Inductees being recognized this year are Toni Bachman for the Life Time Achievement, Mary Clark for Patron of the Arts, Stephanie Schultze and Daniel Stahl for Performing Arts and Paula Steel for Visual Arts.
Dedicated to the advancement of all art forms, the annual awards are presented to encourage excellence in art and recognize and honor all the many enormously talented area artists and supporters. Recipients may be selected for a body of work or years of continuous service or for an individual extraordinary accomplishment.
All inductees receive a unique blackware pottery piece featuring a Spirit Bear emblem designed and created especially for this honor by Artist-in-Residence Winston Taylor.
Individual tickets to the annual event are available for $50 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays at the Arts Center, located at 1001 East B. Street in Russellville. For more information, call 479-968-2452.
